Help Save Alice - Our story

This is Alice, my beloved 10-year-old Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
Our story began years ago when I had just moved to Sweden and got my first puppy, Lana. Alice and her previous owner crossed our paths, and the two dogs became inseparable. Months later, I found out Alice was being sold. Heartbroken at the thought of losing her, fate intervened—her original buyer fell through, and Alice came to me.
Alice has been by my side ever since. Together with Lana, they have been my rock through life's darkest moments—heartbreak, miscarriages, sepsis, a mini stroke, family struggles, and living in a single room with barely enough to feed myself. But through it all, I swore to never let Alice down as she had been. When I struggled, they gave me the strength to keep going—her big brown eyes and unwavering loyalty were my light in the darkness.
Life has since turned brighter. I met a wonderful man, built a loving family, and welcomed our daughter earlier this year. Seeing her watch Alice and Lana play in the garden fills me with a joy I always dreamed of and I hope one day to see our daughter run with them. But just as we were planning our first family trip next summer, everything came crashing down.
Alice began having breathing issues and was rushed to intensive care. After countless tests, we received devastating news: she has chondrosarcoma—a tumor causing fluid around her lungs. The good news is that surgery could save her life, giving her many more healthy years. But the cost of surgery is overwhelming, reaching thousands—money we don’t have after intensive care, the tests and months of living paycheck to paycheck to care for our daughter who was born early with some complications. We were initially informed that Alice had good odds for a successful surgery after tests confirmed the cancer hadn't spread and were provided with a reasonable cost estimate. Based on this, the surgery was booked. However, the day before the procedure, we were suddenly told that it was more complicated and that the cost would be triple what was originally quoted. This situation has left us feeling misled, and as though Alice was unfairly taken advantage of.

Right now, Alice is back home, full of energy and life, which makes it impossible to consider letting her go. She’s not ready to say goodbye, and we want to give her the chance she deserves.
This is where we need your help.
We know times are hard for many, but if you can spare even a small amount, it could make all the difference in saving Alice’s life. We need help covering paft of the surgery and intensive care afterwards as we have already reached the max of our insurance with her intensive care when she became poorly. She has been my constant companion, my hope in dark times, and my daughter’s new best friend. We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t do this alone.
Please, if you can donate or share Alice’s story, we would be forever grateful. We only ask to help give her the chance to live the life she still so clearly wants to enjoy.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us fight for Alice.
