Help Save Ali, Our Seizure Support Pup

Donation protected
Eight years ago on the coattails of my husband falling off a ladder and breaking both of his feet, back and a couple ribs, he convinced me we needed another dog. I was skeptical since he was in for a long recovery and we have a special needs son. I decided it needed to be a rescue.
I began looking while my husband kept sending me ads for dogs. I discovered there are a lot of crooks out there selling "fake" dogs and with a rescue I needed to make sure it would be good with other kids and our other dog. We weren't having a lot of luck until I stumbled upon this sweet little fluff ball that was a rescue from an Amish puppy mill. It was her, this was the dog we were intended to have. We applied to adopt her and were approved right away. Loaded the kids up and we were on our way to pick up the tiny 10 ounce bundle of love.
In the picture from the left see Joe who is now 24, Me with Ali, Jeff (can't see the crutches in the picture), Johnathan in red, 19 and Nicholas, 21 in the hat. Nicholas had just had another brain surgery to alleviate his intractable seizures to no avail. There was no amount of meds that would stop these dumb seizures. We brought home this sweet girl. She loves EVERYONE!

This little baby girl noticed something different about Nicholas. She would observe him from a distance. It didn't take long for us to figure out that this fate dog had trained herself to alert us to his seizures. She would keep her distance until she sensed something and would do everything in her power to let us know. Bark, scrape at the floor, growl, run around the room. It was spectacular to say the least. Ali only got better in time. She would always distance herself from Nicholas and only be up in his business if he was seizing or getting ready to. This allowed us to have rescue meds ready and on hand.

A year ago Ali was diagnosed with bladder stones. She required surgery to have them removed. Ali was put on a special diet to prevent them. Unfortunately, we just went in for her well visit only to discover she had blood in her urine, kidney stones and a stone blocking her ureter. She will be seeing an internist at MSU Veterinary Clinic on Thursday, June 27th to have a stint put in and hopefully save her kidney. The cost is overwhelming. We need your help saving our pup!
