Help Save Aggie – My Sweet Frenchie Mama
My heart is so heavy as I write this. My beautiful 2½-year-old French bulldog, Aggie, is pregnant. Before anyone judges, please know this: my dogs are my whole world. Anyone who knows me knows that I love and care for them more than I care for myself. They are my family, my babies, and my biggest source of joy.
When I first got Aggie, my plan was to spay her right away. But like so many of us, I made the mistake of letting social media sway me. I read posts saying you should let a female go through her first heat, and others saying small dogs face serious risks during surgery. I panicked and let fear make the decision for me. During her last heat, I did everything I could to keep her separated from my male dog. Somehow, during a quick potty break, it still happened.
Yesterday, I found out she is pregnant—and due in about 10 days. My world turned upside down. The father is an Old English bulldog, and this means the pregnancy is very dangerous for her. She cannot give birth naturally. The vet confirmed she will need a cesarean section to survive. Without it, my sweet Aggie’s life is at risk.
The cost of the surgery is more than I can afford right now. I already do everything I can to keep a roof over our heads and care for my three dogs. But I simply cannot come up with the funds for this surgery in time, and I refuse to gamble with Aggie’s life. I will cover all her aftercare and she will be spayed after this—lesson painfully learned.
I’m not here to hustle anyone. I’m not here to take advantage. I’m just a mama doing everything she can to save her baby. If you can find it in your heart to help us cover the surgery costs, it would mean the world to me. No donation is too small. Even sharing this story helps more than you know.
Aggie is the love of my life. I cannot let her suffer. Please, if you can, help us make sure she gets the surgery she needs.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for sharing, for caring.
With love and gratitude,
A very worried but hopeful dog mama
