Help save Adam Colson's Kidneys

It’s not easy asking for help. But here we are asking for help.
Our son, Adam Colson, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Chronic Kidney Disease 4 years ago at the age of 12. Since then, he has progressed to Stage 4 with 20-30% kidney function. Currently, the common treatment for kidney disease is to wait until the kidneys have failed and then do dialysis or get a transplant.
Kidney disease runs in the family. Adam’s dad, John, started dialysis when he was 21 and is now on his 3rd kidney transplant. We are very grateful for John’s transplants and all of the medical professionals who have helped John, but almost 3 decades of dialysis and transplant medications have taken their toll on John’s quality of life. We don’t want Adam to have this same future, so John has researched ways to save Adam’s kidneys.
John’s research led him to stem cell therapy. We found the right doctor with the right therapy at the right clinic. Unfortunately, this is not covered by insurance. (Which is crazy since it’s way cheaper than dialysis or a transplant!!) Adam starts his first session Dec 11. He will have about 6 sessions over 2 years. Each session costs about $4,000 plus travel costs for Adam and at least one parent.
Adam has a full life. He is the 3rd of 4 children in his family. He is an active 16-year-old and a strong wrestler on his high school team despite his struggles with energy and endurance. He is a Life Scout, working on his Eagle rank. He has an after-school job so he can have money to go on dates. He serves in his church and is a good friend.
He has lived the last 4 years with his health problems and a bleak outlook. Now, for the first time he has hope for his quality of life in the future. But we need help paying for it.
