Abby, my 5-year-old Bearded Collie, has been my loyal companion through some of the hardest times in my life. For over a month, she has been suffering from a severe urinary tract infection, urinating blood every hour or two and struggling with bowel movements. Despite trying several antibiotics and making countless trips to the vet, Abby’s condition didn’t improve. I’ve spent everything I have on tests, medications, and vet visits, even taking unpaid time off work to care for her and get her the help she needs.

On March 6th, after more tests and an x-ray, the vet was able to rule out cancer, bowel blockage, and a deadly uterine infection. However, they discovered a ping pong ball-sized bladder stone and a few smaller stones. The vet explained that this large stone is causing all of Abby’s pain and could lead to worsening infections, kidney failure, and even take her life if we don’t operate as soon as possible. This stone is too large to be dissolved by antibiotics or special foods—it must be removed immediately. I’ve already sold my jewelry and anything else I could to pay for her care, but I have nothing left. I’m a low-income substitute teacher, still trying to get back on my feet after years spent caring for my very sick mother who recently passed away. I haven’t been able to save much, and I don’t have a full-time teaching job yet.

Abby is my everything and all I have left in this world. She is a sweet, loving dog who deserves a chance to recover and live a happy, healthy life.
