Today, I write to you with a heavy yet hopeful heart on behalf of a dear friend and brother, Temi, whose family is in urgent need of our compassion and support. His wife—young, vibrant, and full of life—has been diagnosed with a critical heart condition requiring immediate surgical intervention.

Their journey over the past year has been nothing short of extraordinary.

In May 2024, Temi and his wife welcomed their first child, a baby boy born prematurely at eight months. The birth was rushed through an emergency Cesarean section after doctors discovered both mother and child were experiencing severe heart complications. Miraculously, the baby survived and underwent a successful heart surgery at Babcock University Teaching Hospital, thanks to the generosity of family, friends, and well-wishers. Today, he continues to recover well and receive post-operative care.

However, the story doesn’t end there.

Temi’s wife, previously healthy and energetic, has since been diagnosed with a hole in her heart—a condition that went unnoticed until her pregnancy. Her health has steadily declined. She now suffers from fatigue, breathlessness, weakness, and abdominal pain. Doctors have made it clear: she needs urgent heart surgery to survive.

Her surgery is scheduled for this May at Babcock University Teaching Hospital. The timeline is tight, but the opportunity is providential as this coincides with the availability of visiting cardiologists.

Here is a breakdown of the required medical costs:

Echocardiogram: ₦85,000 (covered)

Cardiac Catheterization: ₦1,960,000 (covered)

Estimated Surgery Cost: ₦15,000,000

We have just 3–4 days to raise the remaining ₦15 million (Fifteen Million Naira).

This is not just about funding a procedure—it is about giving a young mother the chance to live, to raise her son, and to continue sharing her life with the people who love her. It is about restoring hope where illness has cast a shadow.
