We stopped cancer, but now she can’t financially survive

My friend needs help and she’s finally ready to share her story, Ellie.

From her oncology nurse: I have had the privilege of being one of this young lady’s nursing care team members and seeing her go through this battle with an aggressive cancer and suffer through round after round of treatment has made my heart break for her a million times over. She is the sweetest girl you could ever meet. She remembers the birthdays of staff members and brings each of us a handmade card without fail. She remembers our children’s names and milestones. She comforts people in the lobby when they’ve clearly not gotten hoped-for results. I’ve seen her hold an elderly woman as the woman cried, having just lost her adult daughter to uterine cancer. The woman spoke no English but no words were needed. She speaks kindness, and she speaks it to everyone. She still is fighting stage IV colorectal cancer. But immunotherapy paid for by insurance and Dr. Leslie Dobson has pulled her life back from the brink. At this moment, she needs funds for critical dental care which she doesn’t have coverage for (has medical insurance but not dental) because chemo causes infection and prevents further cancer treatment, and just as importantly, funds to live on while she goes through a course of FOLFIRI chemo and prepares for a massive surgery to remove what will be left of her primary tumor!!! A year ago, I didn’t think Ellie would live, so I just showed her love. Now she’ll live but I don’t know how.
