Dear Friends,
I need your help in a very difficult time. Meet one of my good Friend Cátia and her family, they are longtime friends, and they are going through a tough situation to save their child's life. She was born with serious health issues, including Laryngomalacia, GERD, and the rare TBL1XR1 Pierpont Syndrome.
Laryngomalacia makes it hard for her to breathe.
GERD causes stomach problems- She is currently eating thru a gastric feeding tube
Pierpont Syndrome is very rare and adds more challenges.
Our little Bella is 4 months old and she is such a cute and loved baby. Sadly, since day one of her life she has been suffering with discomfort and pain. After she was born, she stayed in the NICU for 68 days and was diagnosed with Laryngomalacia, GERD, Silent Aspiration and Hypertonia. To go home she had a surgical procedure to place a gastric feeding tube because she was not allowed to safely eat through her mouth due the risk of aspiration. Bella stayed 37 days at home before she admitted back to the pediatric intensive care unit at the hospital due to severe apneic episodes every day multiple times a day. She stops breathing, her blood oxygen saturation levels drop along with her heart rate and respiration rate then she turns purple/blue with no explanation. The hospital she was born was unable to identify the cause and recommended transferring her to a pediatric hospital more equipped to help our Bella. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota accepted Bella's case. Her parents borrowed $60,000 to pay the upfront cost for the NICU ambulance plane transportation from Las Vegas to Minnesota - not covered by insurance. Bella has been in Minnesota for a week, new tests were done and she was diagnosed with a extremely rare syndrome which is a specific mutation in TBL1XR1 - Pierpont Syndrome. The cause of the apnic spells is still unknown and unrelated to the syndrome.
The [Shelton] family have had to live away from home to get the necessary treatments but they cannot afford the costs.
Cátia had to quit her job to take care of Bela, she is an immigrant and doesn’t have any family relatives here in the US. Her husband was working hard to provide for his family, but now that Bela needed to be transferred to Minnesota, and with all the extra medical and living expenses, it’s impossible for him to keep up with!
But we can help. Let's ease some of their financial burden so they can focus solely on their child's health.
How You Can Help:
1. **Make a Donation**: Any amount helps greatly. Every donation goes directly to medical bills and the place where they are temporarily staying.
2. **Share the Message**: Tell your friends and family. The more people who know, the better.
3. **Support and Love**: Send positive thoughts, Prayers and love to the [Shelton] family. They will appreciate it greatly.
Let's show the [Shelton] family that we are here to help. Your donation can bring hope, relieve stress, and give their child a chance to live well.
We appreciate your support, financially or sharing Bella's stories. Her journey is just beginning and we count on every bit collaboration. Thank you so much!
