Help Save a Precious Rescue Dog

Hello my name is Samantha. Recently my daughter and I rescued a boy and girl puppy in our neighborhood; one of which is unable to walk. Both of the dog's owners packed their bags, moved out, and abandoned them without a second thought. After speaking to a few neighbors, we were told that the dogs had been seen roaming around the community for weeks without any food or water before we rescued them.

We spent days trying to rescue them both with the help of my neighbor. Once we finally caught them, we took them to the local pet store for an evaluation and vaccines, and then took them to the groomer to get all cleaned up in hopes that it would lift their spirits. On recommendation from the veterinarian there, we then took them to another veterinary office for a full physical and unfortunately discovered that the girl puppy is immobile because her pelvis is severely broken in two spots and so is her tail. We believe that she was hit by a car while trying to survive outside for weeks.

The Vet explained that the only way for her to get better is for her to have surgery to repair her pelvis. The Vet informed us that this procedure would cost $2,500-$3,000. She is in severe pain and has a ton of bruising all over her stomach and legs as well as a couple of wounds. She isn't eating or drinking much and we were told that both puppy’s are very dehydrated. She has been incredibly strong through all of this trauma and we are certain that she has a fighting chance to get better; however we need as much help as we can get. Its impossible to watch her go through such pain and breaks our heart because just the day before we finally brought her into our home she was darting around just like any dog would making it very difficult for use to rescue her. We also called animal control for assistance several times and they never showed up.

As a single mother with various expenses, this is one I was not prepared to pay. In the blink of an eye I went from having no dogs to two and the costs are quickly adding up. I’ve already spent over $500 on X-ray’s and pain meds and over $200 on vaccines, food and various necessities for them. Unfortunately, the local shelters have all advised they won’t be able to take her in without guaranteeing she won’t be euthanized due to the severity of her injuries. Please help me give this precious little girl a second chance to live a full and happy life. Any donation are greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.
