Salamun alaykum,

I normally do not organise online fundraisers, but due to the seriousness of this medical emergency, and because Umm Ali, a Pakistani mother, is the mother of close family friends of ours, I felt morally obliged to use whatever online presence and reach I have to try and help this family raise the urgently needed funds.

We personally know this family and vouch for them as sincere, decent, and pious people. They have fully cooperated with transparency and have provided extensive medical documentation, CT scan reports, referral letters, emergency findings, and hospital paperwork so that everything can be shared openly and honestly with potential donors.

For privacy reasons, some personal identification details have been digitally covered, but the medical findings, hospital stamps, and reports remain visible for transparency and verification.

Umm Ali, a 69-year-old mother currently in Saudi Arabia, is suffering from a highly critical medical emergency involving evolving bowel ischemia and small bowel obstruction.

Her Contrast-Enhanced CT scans revealed severe narrowing of the Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA), the major artery responsible for supplying blood to the intestines. According to the emergency referral letters and radiology reports, doctors warned that urgent intervention is required to prevent bowel gangrene and potentially fatal complications.

The doctors stated that she urgently requires either:

emergency vascular stenting to reopen the artery,

or

major open abdominal surgery to remove the blockage and repair damaged tissue.

Given Umm Ali’s age and the risk of bowel tissue death, delays in treatment could quickly become life-threatening. Every hour matters.

The family is currently attempting to transfer her to a specialised private tertiary hospital in Jeddah that has the advanced vascular surgery teams and 24/7 catheter lab facilities required to manage her condition.

Unfortunately, Umm Ali’s health insurance recently expired, meaning the family must now fund the treatment privately.

The hospital requires an initial emergency admission deposit of approximately 50,000 Saudi Riyals (around £10,000 GBP) before specialised surgical admission and treatment can proceed.

This emergency deposit only covers:

immediate ER stabilisation,

consultant monitoring,

admission,

and pre-operative preparation.

It does NOT include:

major surgery,

ICU care,

scans,

prolonged hospitalisation,

medications,

or possible complications and additional procedures.

Doctors have informed the family that the total costs could potentially rise to approximately 150,000 SAR (around £32,000 GBP), and possibly even higher if prolonged ICU care, surgical complications, or additional emergency procedures become necessary.

The family has agreed for the medical reports and referral letters to be shared publicly for transparency. Additional hospital estimates and supporting paperwork will also be uploaded as they become available.

Any donation, no matter how small, would genuinely help this family during an extremely frightening and difficult time.
