Help Save the Hatem's Wife & 6 Children from Gaza

My name is Ahmed Almajayda and I am organizing this GFM on behalf of my brother. Hatem is my big brother and his family is in Gaza- I previously made a GFM for them but unfortunately the link was suspended. I want to present to you the story of my brother Hatem:

I am Hatem Zakaria Abdelmajid Al-Majayda.
I am married and have six children: My wife May Marwan and my children Dima (18yo), Zakaria (15yo), Youssef (13yo), Zeina (11yo), Roweida (7yo) , and my youngest Khaled (2yo).

My family and I used to live in Khan Younis, Gaza. Like many Palestinians, we had full and content lives filled with joy, love, and aspirations. While we had still lived under occupation and siege, we were able to navigate to still find joy and a sense of normalcy through it all. In Gaza, you learn to resilience at an early age and that there are numerous levels to the violence you will face. This has been our fate.
We used to live in Khan Younis, Gaza. After the outbreak of the war on October 7th, rockets began raining down on us from every direction. I was forced to flee with my family and children from the heart of the city to the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis. This is when our trail of tears began.
Day after day and week after week, we have been suffering since. Faced with fatigue, displacement, hunger, and limited to access to basic needs such as clean water, food, and adequate shelter. We have been living in a small tent no more than 4 meters with my wife and six children, yet we are fortunate to be alive. We sold all of our furniture and belongings to be able to cover the rising costs of basic needs. Everything we had ever worked for—gone.

One of the most difficult aspects of life was being cut off from the outside world. Communication cuts in Gaza is frequent making it impossible for me to not only reach my loved ones and family in Gaza, but also made it impossible for me to reach the international community. I needed to crowdfund in order to get my family out. Egypt is our only lifeline.

Since I had enough for me to travel, my wife and I agreed that I would travel first to make arrangements and crowdfund to gather the remaining funds so I can get her and our 6 children out. Unfortunately, before I could make any arrangements, the border crossing soon closed in early June—and has been closed since. However, I am confident it will open again and when it does, I want to have my family on the list to Egypt. This is their only lifeline.
As you may know, it costs adults $5K and children $2.5K to obtain entry to Egypt. Thus, this will cost for my family $22,500 to evacuate.
Dear friends and people of conscience everywhere, I am calling on your humanity. Please stand with me to support my family. They are all I have left. Please save my wife and children from the horrors of war. Save them from massacre and genocide. The unknown fate of my family and our only hope lies in your compassion and generosity.
If you cannot contribute, please do consider sharing my story. I am eternally grateful for everyone who has supported us throughout the way.
Your brother Hatem
