On a scorching afternoon, a gentle mama dog and her eight tiny puppies—only 5 to 6 weeks old—were spotted crossing a busy highway, risking their lives in search of food and water. Emaciated, exhausted, and desperate, this courageous mother had clearly done everything she could to protect her little family. When rescuers found them, they were barely clinging to hope, living in heartbreaking conditions: no clean water, infested with fleas, and fighting for survival every single moment.

Yet, despite her frail body and her hardship, this mama never left her puppies’ side. She shielded them as best she could, even as her own health declined. Now, she and her little ones have been brought to safety, but their journey to health and happiness has only just begun.

What They Need
