Hello, my name is Samantha. I'm a local pet groomer in St. John's County. I have been in business for 18 years.

Today was a sad day. I knew in April that a multimillion-dollar roofing company was moving into our building. I didn't know that they were going to take over the building I was in. I feel like I'm in a David and Goliath situation where most large corporations like that have unlimited access to resources I don't. I'm just a mom-and-pop shop.

I was told that I had less than four months to relocate. It's really tough and it's gonna put a major financial strain on me, especially around Christmas, to relocate this fast. I thought I had longer. I thought I had until the end of next year and I thought we were gonna revisit the lease and maybe extend it.

This has been really tough on my family. I don't know right this moment what I'm gonna do. I guess I'm going to have to start looking around for a new place. I want to keep it within 5 miles from where my shop is now so my clients will stick with me. I love my clientele. They're so amazing. They have become more than just customers; they have become family. Their dogs are more than just dogs I groom. They're like my own family dogs.
