Who We Are

My name is Liviu, and I am the proud father of two amazing boys: Niko (8) and Luka (3). Their mother and I are separated, and we share custody — but I’m raising the boys in my own household half of the time.

Today, I’m asking for your help to save Niko’s life.

What Happened?

Until April 2024, Niko was a happy, healthy, curious boy. Then, suddenly, everything changed.

After a walk in nature, he became seriously ill. We rushed him to the hospital — and we were told that his lungs were working at only 15% capacity. After dozens of tests, the final diagnosis came:

Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD) – a rare, life-threatening immune disorder that makes common infections deadly.

The Only Hope: A Stem Cell Transplant

To survive, Niko needs a 100% compatible stem cell donor. None of us — not his mother, not me, not even his little brother — are matches.

We have turned our new apartment into a sterile zone. I clean daily, run air purifiers and ozone purifier, and do everything possible to protect him. But all of this just buys us time.

The transplant is his only chance.

Our Life Now

After the separation, I now pay rent for my own household while caring for both children when I have my custody time. My company helped us with the cost of air-cleaning machines and a nanny for Luka — but it’s not enough.

Who Is Niko?

Niko is a bright, funny, and strong boy. He plays piano, speaks four languages, and is fascinated by electricity, trains and the Universe.

He knows he is sick — but not how serious it is.

He only knows that mom and dad are doing everything they can to keep him safe.
