Help Save 4 month old Signet From F.I.P

Hello everyone. My name is Alexi, a 25 year old student who lives in Melbourne (Naarm), Australia.
The special furbaby you see before you is Signet. He is a small framed Cornish Rex with a big human heart, four months old, born on the 24th of September, 2021.

Lately, after a month of committing our love, times and lives with Signet, myself and others began to notice that his heart wasn't the only thing big about him. His belly seemed to be growing abnormally large for a kitten of his size. At the time of posting this, it was today that Signet was taken to his first-ever vet checkup. Here the Veterinarian assessed the belly concern. The news that came after has shocked and devastated me and everyone who knows him. I was told by the vet that Signet's abdomen was filling with large amounts of fluid due to a form of feline coronavirus called Feline Infectious Peritonitis, a rare but long documented condition that the vet described as quickly debilitating and with very little survival rate.

After having his blood and fluid samples taken, Signet was bought back to me in his carrier, restless and shaken from the process but still seemingly full of love and life. He is the most trusting cat we've ever known. I have cried my eyes out, watching him intently look at me, grasp onto my hand knowing that he could lose his quality of life very quickly, until the moment we would have to euthenise him.

The Vet then informed me that there was hope for Signet to be saved and that it involved the use of an unapproved, but more often than not successful treatment plan that is costly. I could hardly afford to pay the vet bill for that day. I have connected online with a community of many cat parents, 'FIP Warriors', who have accessed the medicine and saved their pets!

We are not ready to lose Signet and he has so much love and life in him. He is family and we simply cannot give up on him.

Please help us afford the treatment to overcome the virus and give him a chance at life.
