PJRS was created from a simple belief: every abandoned dog and/ or cat deserves a chance to be safe, healthy, loved, and home.

Our mission is not limited to one town or one part of Puerto Rico. We help rescue dogs and cats from communities across the entire island, working alongside dedicated local rescuers, veterinarians, fosters, and rescue partners to give vulnerable animals the second chance they deserve.

Rescue is much more than getting an animal off the street. It means being there for everything that comes next. Donations help us provide veterinary care, food, transportation, rehabilitation, temporary boarding and other essential expenses while rescued animals recover and prepare for the next chapter of their lives which is helping them find their forever homes with humans who really care for them.

For a long time, we personally carried many of these expenses. But rescue is an ongoing commitment, and the need throughout Puerto Rico is greater than what we can accomplish alone. That is why we are building a community of people who believe, as we do, that every life matters.
