Help Save 12-Year-Old Abzalali’s Life
My name is Oygul Khalilova, and I am writing this with tears in my eyes as a grandmother who is desperately trying to save her grandson.
My beloved grandson, Abzalali Alimov, is only 12 years old.
Before cancer entered our lives, he was just a happy little boy. He loved sports, laughed easily, dreamed about the future, and filled our family with joy. Like every grandmother, I imagined watching him grow into a strong young man, graduate from school, and build a beautiful life.
I never imagined I would instead be watching him fight for his life.
Everything began with pain in his left arm. We believed it was a sports injury that would heal with time. Instead, after countless doctor visits, scans, biopsies, and weeks filled with fear, we heard the words no family is ever prepared to hear.
Abzalali has Stage IV Ewing sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer.
By the time doctors discovered the disease, it had already spread from his left arm to his lungs and lymph nodes.
Our world stopped.
Since that day, hospitals have become his second home.
Instead of going to school every morning, he wakes up surrounded by doctors, nurses, IV lines, and chemotherapy medications. Instead of spending time with friends, he spends his days undergoing tests, scans, blood work, and treatments that no child should ever have to endure.
His treatment has been incredibly difficult. Multiple rounds of intensive chemotherapy have left him with dangerously low blood counts, severe anemia, and a weakened immune system. There have been days when even a simple infection could become life-threatening.
Yet despite everything, Abzalali continues to smile.
He still asks when he can go home.
He still talks about the future.
He still believes he is going to beat this disease.
Today, our family has brought him to Samsung Medical Center in South Korea, hoping to give him the best possible chance to survive. His doctors are doing everything they can, but the cost of treatment is overwhelming. Hospital estimates include chemotherapy, surgery, radiation therapy, specialized procedures, medications, hospital stays, travel, housing near the hospital, and many other essential medical expenses.
No grandmother ever wants to ask strangers for help.
I would give everything I own, every possession I have, and even years of my own life if it meant taking this illness away from my grandson.
But I cannot fight cancer alone.
That is why I am humbly asking for your help.
