My name is Savannah, and I’m a single mom of two amazing kids. I work full time as a server and am also in school full time, working hard to build a better future for my family. Recently, I started my unpaid 7-week externship, which is a big step toward completing my MA program. However, it’s made things really tough financially, since I can now only work two days a week.

Because of this, I’ve fallen behind on all my bills—my rent, electric, and car note are all due or overdue. I’ve always tried to handle everything on my own, and I never thought I’d have to ask for help like this. But right now, I don’t know what else to do. I want to make sure my kids have a safe and stable home while I finish my externship and take this important step for our future.
