Hey y’all,

I never in a million years would’ve thought I would need to make a post like this and ask for help, but at this point in time, I have no other choice.

My name is Rebecca, and my sister, Savannah Thomason, has been in and out of the hospital since late February and this current stay has been about 6 weeks. She is in liver failure and has been fighting for her young, 28 year old life, over the last several months. It was just a few weeks ago, that doctors weren’t sure she was going to pull through. She had some internal bleeding from complications from her liver failure and went under for a small procedure but her body was too weak to breathe on its own. She was placed on a ventilator and kept sedated in the ICU for 4 days. When they were finally able to take her off the ventilator and wake her up, she soon after developed pneumonia. All of this combined caused her to be bed bound for a number of weeks which led to her losing the strength in her legs making her unable to walk or even hold herself up. The doctors have told us she needs intense physical therapy rehabilitation but unfortunately, she does not have health insurance and we have been unable to find a place that will take her. We have been applying for her to get Medicaid but they have now denied her twice. We have been doing our best to try to get her the best care possible, but lack of funds makes that difficult.

I’m making this go fund me to ask for prayers & help to get Savannah the treatment and medical care she needs to make it through this to save her life. Everything raised will go to helping Savannah get treatment, medications, medical equipment, supplies and offer financial relief for her and my parents, who are doing their best to help get care for Savannah, all while currently taking care of her 7 year old daughter. Our goal is to eventually get her stable enough to be released from this hospital and make our way to piedmont Atlanta in hopes of getting a liver transplant.

We love Savannah so very much. She is not only fighting for her own life, but to be there to watch her daughter grow up. And my family and I are fighting to make that happen.
