Help Savannah Chess get to the US Amateur Team South!

Hello!

My name is Skyler Kelly, I am creating this GoFundMe to raise funds to help my chess club go to the US Amateur Team South Championship and to pay for our travel, hotel, and food.

Savannah Chess has been hosting weekly meetups for our players to improve and now we are bringing our team to the US Amateur Team South chess tournament to show our improvement and hopefully bring back rating points and hopefully a trophy!

Skyler Kelly

Skyler Kelly is an experienced chess player and the organizer of Savannah Chess. With over ten years of participation in rated tournaments, Skyler has shown dedication to the game. A highlight of his recent performance was at the 2024 US Amateur Team South Tournament, where he achieved notable results, including a win against a National Master and a draw against an International Master. Skyler is currently focused on reaching his goal of becoming a National Master.

Tyler Gregory

Tyler Gregory has been playing chess for 18 plus years. Competitively for over 14, Tyler has won many major tournaments in the GISCA and SCISA division in middle and high school. Tyler also placed 24th in the 2014 nationals. Tyler has also placed 45th in the U1800 at the world open with only 2 losses out of 9 rounds. Tyler's goal is to climb back to greatness he once had and obtain his goal of 2000.

Nora Nguyen

Nora Nguyen is an ambitious player with 2 years of experience in the game. They have studied for countless of hours to make it to where they are now. In the most recent tournament, hosted by the Grayknight Chess Association, Nora got 1st place amongst strong players. Nora is currently focusing on becoming a national master.

Logan Dickerson

Logan Dickerson played his first rated chess tournament in 2023 and has quickly become one of the strongest players in Savannah.
