On June 9, our family's life changed in an instant when a fire broke out in my daughter Savanna's apartment building.

Savanna escaped the building with only the clothes she was wearing. She suffered bruises and minor injuries during the evacuation and was assessed by paramedics for smoke exposure. Thankfully, she survived and is safe.

The fire has left her without a home, and residents on her floor have been told they will not be able to return. Like many young families, they did not have the financial resources to absorb a loss of this magnitude. They are now facing the immediate costs of temporary housing, clothing, personal items, medications, transportation, replacing important documents, and rebuilding their lives.

We are incredibly grateful to the firefighters, paramedics, Red Cross, family, friends, and everyone who has already offered support.
