Help Saurabh achieve his dream

I am helping raise funds to support 4 year college education for Saurabh Yadav who wants to fulfill his and his parents dream of becoming an engineer. My family has known Saurabh's family for years and what amazes me most about Saurabh is his grit and his desire to be the best version of himself even in face of many adversities. Only at 16, Saurabh is determined to succeed and works hard to make things happen. With your help and support we can ensure his dream to get an education is achieved and money is one thing he doesn't have to worry about.

Saurabh's father runs a tire repair shop and earns about $50/month to support his family. His father desired that his son get education from the best school in the city so he enrolled Saurabh at City Montessori School in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh province in India. Seeing his excellence in school work the owners of CMS School provided Saurabh scholarship but it wasn't easy to pay a monthly tuition of 3500 Rupees per month (~$45/month) so Saurabh took it upon himself to help his dad and worked odd jobs himself. Saurabh achieved 95% in Grade-12th and is in top 5% of the students in the entire country and has offers to attend the best Engineering schools in India but his family doesnt have enough funds to cover the massive price tag the 4 year college education comes with. While Saurabh is still deciding on what college to attend, the estimated tuition for an engineering degree is about 10-15 lakh rupees i.e about $20,000. This fund is to help fund his college education fund so he can get the education he deserves. Saurabh scored 89% in English, 97% in Hindi, 93% in Hindi, 87% in Physics and 71% in Chemistry in the all India ICSE 12 exam.

For transparency I will keep all the donors posted on use of funds. The funds are needed for tuition starting this fall and for next 4 years.

Saurabh story in his own words:

I am Saurabh Yadav , a student from Uttar Pradesh, India. I've been raised in a lower middle class family with a very limited source of income, as my father owns a small Cycle Repair shop. When I was born, my parents being just 10th pass dreamed that they would give me the best quality of education from one of the best schools at any cost, which really cost them great troubles. My father admitted me to City Montessori School, one of the best schools in India for academics. Being one of the top schools its fees was really high, but he still managed to afford my education by working multiple jobs and never taking a day off in his entire life. They chose my education over their health or luxuries of life.

My father dealt  with all the difficulties, tried his best to arrange the fees in time till class 10,  I passed my class 10 with 92 percent. My parents were really happy and so was I. But after class 10  the school fees increased so much that my father was unable to continue my studies, so he asked me to change my school but I wanted to complete my 12th from the same school, so I requested my father to drop the plan of changing school. The only way to continue my studies was to lessen my father's burden by a second source of income. So I decided to earn the deficit myself. Being a student, the best way to earn was to give tutions to my juniors. So I taught tutions for the next two years to 4-5 children, with which I earned well to lessen my father's burden. I used to attend school until 3pm in the afternoon, then give tuition and study till late hours of the night to catch up on my school work.

With my parents' blessing I passed my class 12th with 95 percent. My mother always wanted me to become an engineer and I too had a keen interest in engineering. So I decided to aspire B.tech in Computer Science Engineering. But the biggest problem comes face to face now, the total fees of the university is around ~15,00,000 INR. And my father after knowing the fees has drawn his hands back and I can understand why, because he has done extreme toil in the past 17-18 years from giving me a comfortable and happy life to giving  the best education for shaping a good future, and he can't afford this big amount even if he wanted. Therefore I wanted some help for my higher studies, so that I could get a good job , as now its my turn to pay back my parents, to give them all the happiness that they missed due to my studies, and give them a happy and peaceful life.
