A close friend of mine is an immigration attorney who's working with this family and invited me to help.
Satu and Amadu immigrated to the Portland area from west Africa and have been in immigration proceedings for the last few years. In early January, Amadu was detained and held at the ICE detention center in Tacoma, WA. After spending almost two months there, a federal court finally released him determining that ICE had no right to detain him without a hearing. Since he's the income earner for the family and has been unable to work, they need some help covering March rent.
Please consider helping this family make ends meet as they defend their immigration case and challenge the US to live up to its values as a nation that welcomes the stranger and protects the vulnerable.
