This is Sasquatch—an approx 5-year-old domestic medium-hair boy with the softest fur, the sweetest eyes, and a gentle soul. Despite being an outdoor community cat his whole short life, he was always pretty healthy, happy and loyal. It took some time for him to get comfortable with humans, but in time he became super friendly.
About a month ago, everything changed.
Sasquatch started to get very lethargic, wouldn’t come to get his food, and he stopped eating completely. He even disappeared for a few days. When he returned he was so skinny and frail. He was taken to the vet thinking that he for sure had organ damage from not eating or drinking for those days he went missing, and therefore thought he wasn’t going to make it. He lost 3lbs. After bloodwork, he was diagnosed with FIP, a disease that used to be a death sentence for cats like him.
There is hope for a full recovery. Now sweet Sasquatch is no longer an outdoor community cat. He is fully acclimated in my home in foster care and needs some help, and we are unable to turn our backs on him. Sasquatch has started treatment, but the treatment is expensive, and he has had some set-backs and complications so far. We are fighting and trying to tackle each symptom that comes up with the help of Little Lion Foundation and Primary Care in Bixby Knolls, along with guidance from the FIP warriors!
Regardless, he still gets up. He accepts love, pets, and snuggles. He’s still fighting.
Please consider donating, sharing, and of course, sending good thoughts for this amazingly sweet boy. Funds will go towards medicine and continued vet care for Sasquatch and any other struggling FIP kitties.
