We’re calling on the amazing rugby community and Comox Valley supporters to rally behind an extraordinary talent, Saskia Morton. Comox Valley Kickers Head Coach and Canadian Classic JB Nikkel is seeking your help to support Saskia in pursuing her dreams of doing a rugby tour in the UK and thriving both academically and athletically at the University of Victoria (UVic).
Why Saskia?
Saskia’s story is one of passion, dedication, and selflessness. She is a part of the U18 Island Champions Comox Valley Rapids, where her love for the game and her commitment to her teammates shone brightly. As a leader both on and off the field, Saskia embodies everything rugby stands for: teamwork, perseverance, and heart.
JB Nikkel speaks highly of Saskia, saying:

A Leader On and Off the Field
Saskia isn’t just a talented rugby player; she’s a role model. From a young age, she’s balanced a full plate of responsibilities—working jobs, volunteering in her community, excelling in academics, and supporting her teammates.
Now, Saskia is preparing for her next chapter:
• Playing for the Comox Valley Kickers Women’s Rugby Team: Saskia’s excitement to play for the Kickers is unmatched. As she transitions into the senior women’s program, she’s ready to bring her leadership, skill, and dedication to the team.
• Studying at UVic: Saskia’s academic excellence earned her acceptance to the University of Victoria, where she plans to continue developing as both a scholar and an athlete.
How You Can Help
We’re raising funds to help Saskia cover the costs of:
• Touring the UK, an incredible opportunity to gain international rugby experience and grow as an athlete.
• Supporting her education at UVic, allowing her to focus on her studies and rugby career without the added stress of financial burdens.
Despite her busy schedule, Saskia has consistently put others before herself, working tirelessly and volunteering in her community and also coaching Junior Community Rugby. It’s time we give back to someone who has given so much. We ask the Rugby Community to Rally Behind Saskia
