Help Sasha and her family during open heart surgery
Donation protected
Hey everyone. My name is Taryn. I have 3 babies, an 18-year-old, 14-year-old, and an 8-year-old.
My beautiful littlest love, Sasha Leigh, has to have open-heart surgery. A little back story: Sasha has always had asthma. Up until this year, we didn’t struggle with it. The past almost year, Sasha has been getting sick more. In September, when I brought her to urgent care for an earache, we discovered she had a murmur (a noise your heart makes when it isn’t pumping blood right).
That doctor sent a note to her doctor saying she needed to be referred to DHMC cardiology. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that on Dec 30, 2024, my whole world, hers, and her family's lives would be forever changed. I brought my little miss to what I believed to be a cardiology appointment where they would say it was innocent (very common) and she would grow out of it, and that would be that. I was very, very wrong. We found out after 2.5 hours, an EKG, and an echocardiogram later that Sasha would need to go to Boston Children’s Hospital to receive a catheter placed in her leg to operate on her heart to close a hole.
On Jan 7, 2025, we received a call from DHMC. Dr. Malina (the cardiologist) said that she had spoken with the team at Boston and decided that open-heart surgery would be the best and SAFEST approach, poof my whole my nightmares had become a reality. This is 2-3 weeks out of work and school, one of which would be spent in ICU at Boston. I do not like to ask for any help; I'm very prideful. However, without this surgery, my daughter’s life will cease. Now, the surgery itself is covered. Her family’s stay there, however, is not. We will have unpaid bills as I will also need to be out of work to be with her. My family currently doesn’t have a car, so a cheap car or a down payment for one so we can get to Boston is also something I’ve been taking into consideration. I don’t want to ask people to help, but I can’t not pay my bills and stay in Boston, and I can’t not have her have this surgery. I’m asking that if you can donate even $1, it would be appreciated. I’ll take shares of this post and many, many prayers.
Outside of this, Sasha is a lover of God. She attends Sunday school regularly. She does drama in school and performs in 2 plays a year. She plays spring softball and does dance. If you met Sasha, then you would know she has a love for life, people, and animals. She also really loves Taylor Swift.
I really, really appreciate everyone, even if all you can do to help is read this and share it.
Pray for my baby and her family, please. We could use all of it over here.
