Help Sasha Give His Mom the Greatest Gift: Life
Donation protected
In 2020 Liliya Bekker of Champaign, Ill., was diagnosed with Stage IV kidney failure. That immediately launched her into a nonstop string of medications, specialists, and dialysis treatments three times a week. Her 29-year-old son, Sasha, a firsthand witness to her suffering, selflessly volunteered to donate one of his kidneys so his mother can return to a full and normal life..if his organs were a match.
And they were! A perfect match!
After successfully completing a battery of pre-op tests, the Bekkers’ life-saving transplant surgeries are set for May 28 in Chicago. Insurance will cover the operations, but doctors want to monitor their progress for at least 30 days after the procedures. That means both Liliya and Sasha will be living in Chicago for a month or more, neither able to work to pay their bills at home.
These funds are needed to help the Bekkers recover and regain their health without constantly worrying about their expenses, both known and unforeseen. Sasha is willing to make a major sacrifice for his mother’s future well-being. Won’t you support him by showing your spirit of giving, too?
