Help Sasha get her custom wheelchair

Hi, I’m Sasha and I’m a chronically ill/disabled wheelchair user.

My current wheelchair that I have wasn’t custom made for me, but for somebody else that I then bought from them secondhand as I couldn’t afford a custom for myself.

This chair worked for me for a while, as I used the wheelchair very part time.

I’m still what would be considered a ‘part time’ wheelchair user, but I use it around 90-95% of the time and can no longer leave the house without it.

Now that I use this chair a lot more, the issues with it not being fit for my body have become prominent.

I’ve been dealing with a LOT of chronic pain flare ups in my back and legs because of it, even having some episodes of pain so bad I couldn’t move my legs or walk properly, collapsing when I tried to.

I’m currently a university student studying art, where my course requires full attendance or else failing the unit, so dealing with these issues because of my wheelchair has been a massive struggle, often with me having to leave classes because the pain was too severe to withstand.

Unfortunately, most non for profits and organisations I looked at that help with funding for mobility aids exclude those disabled by chronic health conditions, and even the NDIS in australia tend to automatically reject those with my conditions, so I have to completely self fund.
