Help Marina and her son Sasha go to Disability Camp!

Donation protected
Greetings from Liz Baker! Please meet my dear Ukrainian friend Marina Klychnikova and her youngest of four children, Sasha. In the early weeks of the full-scale invasion of Russia of the sovereign nation of Ukraine in February 2022, Marina and her husband Artyom and their three children fled their beloved homeland and native city of Kyiv, Ukraine. They not only fled for their lives but needed to get Sasha to safety where he could undergo evaluation and treatment as he had been born with birth defects. He experienced heart surgery as an infant and was not developing “typically.” His parents suspected he was on the Autistic Spectrum as he was nonverbal and showed little interest in crawling and walking. In Wales, where they settled as war refugees, Sasha was finally able to receive some evaluation which enabled him to receive special education at a school for children with disabilities.

You indeed know that disability is close to our hearts and ministry! Jim and I have served with and have advocated for the Disability Community for decades.

Marina and Sasha have an opportunity to attend a camp for Ukrainian refugee families affected by disability next month in Sicily. This camp is being organized by The Agape Center, a Ukrainian nonprofit Rehabilitation Center, ReachGlobal Crisis Response, and local Ukrainian churches in the USA as well as in Ukraine. These are long-standing ministry partners with whom we have collaborated for nearly 20 years!

We are committed to raising $2,200 for Marina and Sasha to attend this one-week camp where Sasha and his mom can experience a safe, healthy, and happy environment at a completely accessible family camp setting in community with other Ukrainian refugees affected by disability living across Europe!

We need to raise these funds in two weeks' time, so train, airfare, and bus tickets may be purchased as well as the cost of the camp!

Would you consider RIGHT NOW making a donation of $50, $100, or more if you have the financial means!

We can do this! We can support families with disability! We can give Sasha and his mother an opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy the sea, fellowship with others, rest, and encouragement for a mom who is “on call” 24/7!

Please, give now! Don’t wait! And know that you are making a real difference in the lives of those who are often marginalized and/or forgotten!

May God bless you!

By His grace, Liz Baker
