My name is Sarena, and I’m raising funds for myself and my four children after an apartment fire left us displaced. We may not be able to return to our home at all, and right now, we’re staying in a hotel while trying to figure out our next steps. The fire destroyed much of our clothing and furniture, and we’re facing the reality of starting over from scratch. As a disabled mom who doesn’t drive, getting my children to school has become a daily challenge, requiring long Uber rides back and forth—each trip is an hour away. The costs are quickly adding up, and I’m struggling to keep up with hotel bills, transportation, and the possibility of needing to move permanently. If we can’t return to our apartment, we’ll need help with moving expenses and a down payment for a new place to live.
This is an especially difficult time for us because we’re just one week away from my daughter’s birthday and the 5th anniversary of her being in remission from cancer. She will officially be a cancer survivor on December 10th, and we had planned a special celebration for her. Now, with everything that’s happened, we won’t be able to give her the celebration she deserves.
Any support you can offer would mean the world to us. Your kindness will help us keep a roof over our heads, get my children to school, and start rebuilding our lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering a donation and for sharing our story.
