Hello everyone,
My name is Kathy, and I am the mother of Sara, my youngest daughter, who was born with congenital heart disease. At two months old, Sara was diagnosed with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome. She was born a blue baby. Her blood vessels going to the wrong chambers. She also only has one ventricle. Her mitral valve is severely prolapsed and dysfunctional. Her Cardiologist has informed us that there is nothing more that they can do for her. As they have already performed 3 open heart surgeries on Sara since she was born. I am thankful to have Sara as long as I have, as she was only given 30 percent chance of survival during her first surgery in 2001. Here we are 24 years later. Sara knows and understands her situation and that she has limited time here. She just wants to enjoy what time she has left, one of her desires is to make it back to Disneyland once more. It will be a challenge, as she gets out of breath easily. I just want her to be happy for what time she has left. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
