Help Sarai Mercado Recover from a Severe Scooter Accident

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to share something deeply personal and incredibly difficult. I was recently in a terrible scooter accident that left me with a broken jaw in three places, as well as multiple facial injuries. I’ve already undergone surgery to repair the fractures, and while I’m grateful to be alive and on the road to recovery, this experience has completely changed my life — physically, emotionally, and financially.

The trauma from the accident has made everyday tasks — eating, talking, singing and even smiling — extremely painful. Recovery has been slow and challenging, and while my jaw is no longer wired shut, I’m still facing a long healing journey filled with follow-up appointments, physical limitations, and uncertainty.

On top of the physical pain, the financial burden has been overwhelming. Between hospital bills, surgery costs, medications, and the inability to work, I’m struggling to keep up with everything.

I created this GoFundMe to help cover:

• Surgery and hospital expenses

• Post-op care and medications

• Follow-up appointments and treatments

• Basic living expenses while I recover and cannot work

Sharing these photos wasn’t easy — but I want people to understand just how serious this accident was. The road ahead is still uncertain, but I’m staying hopeful and doing my best to stay strong.
