Help Sarah’s Cat Sanctuary
Donation protected
Sarah is my friend, and she needs your help to create a safe space for the many homeless cats that she cares for at the ‘Soup Kitchen’ she runs at her home in a small rural village in Bulgaria.
Currently, Sarah is caring for close to 60 cats and kittens single-handedly and without any financial support or subsidised veterinary care because in Bulgaria the government only funds dog shelters.
Sarah recently cashed in her pension early in order to buy the property next to hers so that it would not potentially be bought by someone who might not care for cats. It’s not uncommon for people to harm and abuse cats in Bulgaria and Sarah has experienced several of her cats being shot, poisoned or horrifically mutilated.
For 10 years, Sarah has fed, cared for, saved and neutered any homeless, injured or unwanted cat or kitten that has arrived at her door without ever asking for donations. None of the fundraising platforms operate in Bulgaria which is why I am doing this for her.
The property has a huge garden and when combined with Sarah’s own will give the cats a beautiful one acre of safe sanctuary where they can live out their days without fear of hunger or harm.
For this to happen, Sarah desperately needs funds to get safe new fencing installed and to get the garden thoroughly cleaned. The existing chain link fence is in tatters: rusted, full of holes, and in places is interwoven with barbed wire. The garden has broken glass, metal and rubbish hidden amongst the overgrowth that will require a digger to scrape it clean. The target for this fundraiser is based on the quotes she has received to complete these two vital jobs.
When these jobs have been done, Sarah’s next step will be to make the many crumbling old buildings on the land safe from collapsing. Any additional donations will be used towards this.
You can see for yourself the many homeless regulars, residents, and random new faces at Sarah’s Street Cat Soup Kitchen Facebook page https://m.facebook.com/910865322320573/ where you can also read the stories that highlight why this sanctuary is so vital: Skitty Kitty the rat trap amputee, George the gunshot victim, and Fifi the tiny blind kitten are just a few.
I’m convinced that with even the smallest donation, together we can help Sarah create the safe and loving sanctuary these poor cats deserve.
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️
