Let me tell you a little about Sarah's Angel Lift.
Sarah is my daughter. She is 29 years old now and living on her own in an adult family home.
She was born on December 5th, 1996.
Sarah started life with difficulties from the first breath she took, but never let that stop her from being a sweet, loving, always happy child and now adult.
She took every medical appointment as an occasion to make friends; everyone is Sarah's best friend.
We like to say that she doesn't know a stranger.
She has melted the hearts of some of the most grouchy and unhappy people, as well as making the day brighter for all that she touched with her infectious smile and laughs.
"Hi, I'm Sarah," she introduces herself.
She has a brother who loves her unconditionally, as well as cousins who are so close that they could be siblings.
Everyone in our family loves Sarah unconditionally. We can't help it.
This is the person behind the Sarah's Angel Lift name.
We as a family experienced the burden of trying to raise a disabled child without a vehicle to take them to medical appointments, physical or occupational therapy, outings to stores, parks, the beach, camping, traveling, friend gatherings, and holidays.
So after Sarah decided she wanted to move to an AFH, I took a job as a school bus driver.
I learned a lot during that time, so when my work life took a sharp turn, I decided to invest in my own business.
My husband and I always wanted to help and give back to the community that never turned us away, so Sarah's Angel Lift was born.
The business has gathered recurring clients, and I met lots of people in these 12 months. But, unfortunately, life has its own plans, and right now I have to return to a full-time job. In order to keep the van and the business license active, I have to be able to meet a certain amount of rides or clients, or I would have to sell the van and cancel the enormous amount of permits I had to file for, as well as lose money on the sale of my van.
