Help Sarah, Zack and Their 2 Babies Fund Repairs from Helene
Donation protected
My daughter Sarah and her husband Zack, along with their two babies, were forced out of their Hendersonville home on Saturday, September 28 when Hurricane Helena roared through Western NC.
They had no water, no power, no cell service, and innumerable trees down on the 1.5 mile distance to the nearest main road. Mudslides destroyed their garage and comprimised a retaining wall that threatens further damage.
Concerned about caring for their young children, they packed backpacks and supplies and made it to the main road with the help of neighbors and good samaritans.
Sarah and Zach are now safe with family, and thankful for being spared. But they now face a future with home damage that will not be covered by insurance and both are unemployed as their respective employers businesses were shut down.
Update: November 20, 2024
Sarah and Zack are back in their home, both working, and life is slowly retruning to normal. Looming ahead however is the cost to repair and stabalize the retaining wall and rebuild the garage. This cost is estimated to be $25,000 - none of it covered by insurance because they had no flood insurance.
Please help if you can. All funds raised will be sent to Sarah and Zack to help defray the cost of these upcoming repairs.
