The past 10 yrs after battling colon cancer All came to a head March 2023 at Guthrie Sayre when I was vented and choppered to Thomas Jefferson in Philadelphia , PA and Diagnosed with……most likely needing heart surgery and surgeons at Guthrie were not equipped for this type of surgery. I was kept on the vent for 9 days and treated with an onslaught of meds. Surgery was no longer needed. But Drs said, a long recovery ahead. I was finally released in April from TJ with a long recovery at home. 

Over the summer, Again, bowel obstructions continued along with extreme edema and weight loss. Each obstruction worse than previous one. Was receiving daily TPN through a port along w daily hydration.

By Christmas I needed complete care w daily living, extreme malnutrition, no energy, Home Health RN was coming 1-2 times a week.

On a visit in January 10 2024, RN determined i should go to hospital bc of vomiting again, possibly another obstruction. Arrived at hospital via ambulance. Medications given, vented again. This time surgery began to fix obstruction but couldn’t continue, BC BP dropped. Waited, drs then returned to surgery 2 days later. Woke up with Ostomy that saved my life again.

 Since January, medical concerns, more surgeries and more very scary situations have continued. Due to the past and current health issues, I have found myself in an incredible amount of debt because I can no longer work and insurance doesn’t even begin to cover expenses. This is now the second time I have had to turn to my friends, family and community for help. It is beyond embarrassing and unfortunate. I’m setting a goal to cover medical expenses only.
