Help Sarah Spread Love at Burning Man!!

Hi folks!

I recently had a door swing open for me to join a well-seasoned team of believers at Burning Man this year! My entire trip (including travel + staying at a YWAM base in Reno + Burning Man 8/24-9/1) is from August 23rd - September 3rd!

A little background... I have wanted to go to Burning Man since I was seventeen, when my friends mom walked into the living room wearing her "wings" she had hand crafted for the festival. At the time, I was heavy into psychedelics, was barefoot as often as possible (still do this one!), and deeply into the new age. I later found out I'm just a see-er in the spirit! When I got sober eight years ago - I had let go of this dream to go. But now I am confident the Lord has re-opened it, and lit a fire that is not going out anytime soon to see His love BURN at festivals!

For those wondering: Burning Man is a week-long festival in the Nevada desert where thousands of people come together to build a temporary city focused on community, creativity, and radical self-expression. It’s guided by 10 principles like inclusion, gifting, leaving no trace, and features massive art pieces, music, themed camps, and a symbolic burning of a giant wooden figure called “The Man.” (You can google it for more info!) Many people go searching for meaning, connection, and something bigger than themselves there. Lots of partaking in psychedelics and big spiritual searching-- ultimately looking for their Creator. The team I'm going with will be serving Chai, leading Holy Spirit-led drum circles, truth ceremonies, and breathing workshops, to name a few. I'm planning on brining my paints along to do prophetic body art on people!

Over the past few years, Jesus has placed a BURNING passion on my heart to see the new-age and the LGBTQIA community transformed by the love of God! To see those that feel like outcasts find their maker. Those looking for escape. Those that were a lot like me, pre-Jesus. I have been blessed to be able to lead a few teams of "prophetic painters" the past 3 years during this giant party/rave in Isla Vista called Deltopia. It brings me such deep joy to be able to paint on people, to help them slow down in the middle of the party "chaos", and to leave them with an image that reflects how God sees them. Sometimes it's a simple heart, or flower on the face. Other times I'm painting large wrapping vines across someones body and splashing paint on them! You never quite know what God will bring to mind - which is so much a part of the fun! Most people say "paint whatever you want on me." I've had people sit in my chair, crying and telling me their whole life story. Others are a quick brush stroke, and then disappear into the crowd again. But I believe there is so much power in laying hands on people (or paint!), and that God does the heavy lifting, seed planting, and chasing after of each of their hearts. I can't wait to share this joy of mine with people at Burning Man this year!

"The Burners—the New Age seekers—are longing for God. They are searching for something real, something transcendent, something that satisfies the deepest ache in their souls. But too often, they find counterfeits in the New Age.

Horoscopes and birth charts promise identity and destiny, but our true identity is found in Christ—as sons and daughters of the Good Father.

“See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God…” — 1 John 3:1

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God… you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’” — Romans 8:14–15

This belonging—this precious inheritance—that we know and love is exactly what many Burners are aching for. But instead of finding the One who made them, they often encounter false prophets.

Tarot cards offer answers, direction, and hidden knowledge, but Jesus gives us “the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might” (Isaiah 11:2).

Energy work and chakras promise healing, but true healing comes from Jesus—through mercy, forgiveness, new life, and yes, even miraculous healing.

Life with Jesus offers so much more than the counterfeits:

* His Power and Authority

* His Gifts of Knowledge and Good Counsel

* His Gifts of Healing and Miracles

We only need to know Him, follow Him, and obey Him. And when we truly know Him, we discover that He is good (Psalm 34:8) and that He is love (1 John 4:8).

Our team goes to New Age spaces like Burning Man because we know these spiritual seekers are ultimately seeking Jesus. And the most beautiful truth of all? Jesus longs to reveal Himself to His people.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” — Luke 19:10

This is why we go. This is why we set up camp in the middle of the desert and host the presence of God. This is why we pray, worship, and minister on the Playa—because the lost are searching, and Jesus is seeking them."

Prayer Points for Our Mission at Burning Man (from one of our team leaders, Lily)

Pray for divine appointments. Ask God to bring the seekers who are truly hungry for Him into our tent, and to open the way for deep, Spirit-led conversations. Colossians 4:3 – “Pray… that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ.”

Pray for freedom from counterfeits. Ask Jesus to reveal Himself as the true source of wisdom, identity, and healing—replacing horoscopes, tarot, and energy work with His presence, truth, and power. John 8:32 – “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Pray for miraculous encounters. Pray for signs, wonders, and healings that confirm the reality of Jesus to those who are seeking. Mark 16:20 – “The Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.”

Pray for our team’s unity and strength. Ask for protection, courage, and boldness for every team member—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—so we minister from overflow, not burnout. John 17:21 – “That they may all be one… so that the world may believe.”

Pray for lasting transformation. Pray that every encounter will plant seeds of eternal life, and that God will continue pursuing each person long after the Burn is over. Philippians 1:6 – “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.”
