At 4:00am on Monday, March 10, Sarah and Ryan woke up to the terrifying sound of loud popping and crackling. When they looked outside, they saw bright orange flames and thick smoke coming from townhouse units just down from their home.
With strong winds fueling the fire, it spread rapidly from unit to unit.
In the middle of the chaos, instead of only focusing on getting themselves out, Sarah and Ryan ran from townhouse to townhouse ringing doorbells and shouting to wake their neighbours so everyone could escape safely.
Thankfully, they made it out alive- but with nothing except the clothes they were wearing.
In just minutes, they lost their home and everything inside it: furniture, clothing, meaningful family keepsakes, personal belongings, and all of their daughter, Ava’s belongings as well. Thankfully, Ava was not in the home at the time.
In a single morning, their entire world was turned upside down.
Sarah and Ryan are incredibly selfless people and the last ones who would ever ask for help. But the heartbreaking reality is that their insurance will not come close to covering the full value of everything they lost.
Many people have already reached out asking how they can help. Creating this GoFundMe felt like the best way for those who want to support them during this incredibly difficult time.
Any donation- big or small, will help them begin replacing basic necessities and start the long process of rebuilding their lives.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support during this unimaginable time. ❤️
