Help Sarah to Team Canada Selection-WAWE World Championships

Donation protected
As many of you know, about four months ago I declared as a candidate for the Canadian team for the 2026 Working Equitation World Championships in Spain. And now, I’m thrilled to share some incredible news—my mare, Holly Golightly (aka Audrey), and I have officially achieved our qualifying scores at the recent Thompson-Okanagan WE WAWE qualifier, judged by Fiona Price-Jones.

This makes us the first Canadian to qualify for potential selection, to the first Canadian team going to the WAWE World Championship in 2026. Team Selection is a multi-step process and I'm unbelievably proud to have this fundamental step accomplished.

This moment is both surreal and deeply meaningful. I bought Audrey as a five-year-old with only 60 days under saddle. Over the past 10 years, she’s become my eventing partner, dressage horse, barrel racer (with my son!), and the heart of my lesson program. She’s come back from injury, had a foal, and every time I ask her to do something new—she says yes.

Now, as we set our sights on Spain, we begin a whole new level of training, competition, and preparation. It’s a huge commitment—and not just in time and effort. The financial cost of getting to the 2026 World Championships is significant. Between training, competition, travel, horse transport, equipment, and support, we’re looking at approximately $60,000 CAD.

This is why I’m reaching out to my community—friends, family, fellow equestrians, and believers in big dreams—for help.

Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a real difference. It brings us closer to representing Canada on the world stage and showcasing the talent, heart, and hard work that comes from right here on the Sunshine Coast.

I’m incredibly proud to be part of the Canadian Working Equitation journey and hope to be part of the first-ever team Canada sends to a WAWE World Championship. This is about more than me and my horse—it’s about helping to grow and represent this sport we all love.

Thank you for cheering us on—and for being part of this adventure.

With gratitude,
Sarah & Audrey

What Happens If Plans Change?
While my goal is to represent Canada in Spain at the 2026 WAWE World Championships, life with horses and sport can be unpredictable. If for any reason—injury, team selection, or unexpected change—I’m unable to attend, all remaining funds will be used to support the development of Working Equitation in Canada, including clinics, youth programs, or helping teammates also working toward Spain 2026. Your generosity will still help grow this incredible sport.
