Hello I am fundraising to help my sister in law in her recovery from a ruptured brain aneurysm on her brain stem.
Sarah is a loving mother of 2 beautiful children. Her daughter recently married the love of her life and her son is currently in his sophomore year of high school. On the 12th of February Sarah was rushed to the hospital via ambulance. The neuro team was immediately called in after scans showed a Giant (over 25mm) aneurysm was found on her brain stem. She was rushed into emergency surgery and after 5 hours they were able to stop the bleeding.
She was moved to the ICU and we were told she will be there a minimum of 11 to 14 days. On Sunday Sarah was once more taken into surgery and is now resting. Her neurological ICU team is taking things one day at a time. The doctors are not sure if or when Sarah will be able to return to work. The medical team has said that she will have long term effects but are unsure of the severity. Long term care is a strong likelihood. She recently started a new job and is currently without insurance. There was no warning of what was lurking around the corner and no way to prepare.
She is the most loving woman. She loves with her whole heart and would do anything to help someone in need. She lives by the motto "Do no Harm." To see her with her kids melts your heart. She loves to watch scary movies with her son, making popcorn and snuggling together when it gets intense. Her art is amazing and she has filled our house with beauty and joy. Her outcome is still uncertain but we are all taking things one day at a time.
