Help Sarah Recover After the Fire
Donation protected
Our beloved Sarah Barbuto has been rocked by loss and grief over the past several months. Most recently, on September 27, her life was turned upside down and devastated by a fire in the home of the friends she was living with. Recent loss of a close family member-- followed by this tragedy-- have left her without the ability to work and make a living to support herself.
A few of the MANY people who love Sarah are seeking your help. People in Sarah's life and family have stepped up in a major way to help get back her on her feet, but we would like to lighten the burden on those people and spread it out amongst all of us.
To be open and up front with the details of the fundraising goal:
- Sarah experienced smoke inhalation and burns while escaping the fire, and has needed medical care following that, which has resulted in additional unforeseen financial burden
- Sarah needs to find a new place to live. She has absolute angel friends letting her stay with them, but this isn't a permanent or long-term solution
- With all the mental and emotional anguish from the family loss, the loss in her personal life, the absolute trauma of escaping a fire (coupled with the subsequent health issues it has spurned), and the resulting PTSD-- our girl needs to take a sabbatical from work and seeing patients. So your support will also help keep her afloat to just stay alive and pay her bills for a short bit while she recovers.
- Repayment of borrowed emergency funds she has needed to just get going again
Sarah has been a friend, family member, student, teacher, mentor, pastor, friend-- and continues to be an all around supportive presence in every life she has encountered. You may or may not have a lot to give, but whatever you DO have to contribute will literally be changing and saving and pouring back into the life of someone who has done nothing but pour into the lives of all of us for so many years.
I know that this information is a lot, and as people who love Sarah you may want to reach out. If you text her and she doesn't reply right away just know she isn't being rude, she is reading the messages and she will get back to you-- just give her time. If you would like to send a card or note in the mail, please contact me and I can give you her address.
