Hello everyone, my name is Sarah, and I'm extremely nervous because I've never had one of these fundraisers before. Long story short, my husband lost his job and I am currently in the process of attempting to get disability. I'm older (55) and received some seriously sucky genes that cause the women in our family to develop extreme scoliosis. My mom had a bazillion back and neck surgeries, and now it's my turn. Oh yay.

I have faith that my husband will find another job, but he won't earn enough in time to pay the next month's rent (October 1, 2025).

We live in the Phoenix metro area, so rent is high. We also have kitties, and pet rent is $40 per month for each cat. Our total rent each month is $1568.95, which includes the pet rent, water, and a $4.95 "processing fee" - which I assume is what the bank cards charge the apartment complex to use online payment services.

That's our story in a nutshell. I'm trying reeeeeally hard not to ramble on and put anyone to sleep. Neither I nor my husband has been on any type of assistance, so this is all new territory to us. And highly humbling. I just didn't know what else to do. Our families have passed on. I believe that's the worst part of getting old. Your family passes away and you miss them terribly.
