Help Sarah Grace Brooks Overcome Cancer Again

Hello. I’m Sarah Grace Brooks. At 43, I wear many hats: wife, mother, daughter, friend, and cancer fighter. This December, my husband, Lester, and I will celebrate 11 years of marriage, having been together for 20 wonderful years. Our joy is embodied in our three-year-old daughter, Mallory.

My cancer journey began at 26 with a stage 2 colon cancer diagnosis. After going into remission, the cancer returned to my intestines. Following another remission, I faced a third challenge in my stomach and intestines. Now, I confront my fourth diagnosis, impacting my abdominal wall, stomach, and intestines.

Despite the obstacles, I have embraced life fully. I was once told it was not a matter of if but when cancer would return. Yet, here I am at 43, thriving against the odds. I was told I could never carry a child to term, and yet I joyfully delivered my daughter at 39 weeks. I have the strength to overcome this once again.

It feels humbling to seek support. I have always been the giver, but now I have the courage to ask for help.

The initial treatments didn’t work, and I now need to undergo more intensive chemotherapy and trial treatments. While I’m fortunate to have good health insurance, many of the trials my dedicated medical team recommends aren’t covered. My deepest desire is to grow old with my husband and witness my daughter blossom, so I swallow my pride and reach out for assistance.
