Hey everyone,
As many of you know I’ve been competing in power lifting for around 7 years now. It’s taken a lot of work and twists and turns to get there, including discovering the equipped category at the end of last year, but I’ve finally been lucky enough to be selected represent Great Britain at an International Level competition at the IPF World Equipped Bench Press Championships in Warsaw, Poland from the 29th May 2026 – 31st May 2026, European Championships in Lithuania in August and England at the IPF Commonwealth Championships in Winnipeg in September 2026 I’ll be competing as a masters 1 lifter (40-49 yr olds) in the 84+kg weight class.
I’m incredibly excited. Outside of work powerlifting is my world and has brought more amazing friends and experiences into my lift than anything else, and this will be my first opportunity to expand that in an international setting.
The photos are from both the British Championships where I hit 117.5kg and came 2nd in the Master 1 84+kg category and 3rd across all 84+kg age groups, as well as the English Bench Championships where I managed to hit 140kg came 3rd in my category as came 6th overall across all age groups a weight classes. I’m now building on that towards the world championships.
Powerlifting as a sport is very much a self funded endeavour currently with nothing available from any central funding so I need to cover the cost of flights, accommodation, team tracksuits, team kit to compete in on the day my coaching and other incidentals that come with attending. It’s split between £1600 for the World Championships which we’re
closing in on and £2200 for the Commonwealth Championships.
I’m someone that doesn’t usually like asking for help but the time frame we’ve had makes this one pretty difficult to pin down on my own. I would be eternally grateful to anyone who is able or willing to support with even a tiny amount.
Thankyou so much!
Sarah
