In July of 2013, Sarah Pettis, daughter of Jimmie Sue Richardson-Jenners and the late Kenny Richardson, just 25 years old at the time, was in a car accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury. Since then, the doctors and neurologists who have worked with her through the years have offered little hope of Sarah ever again having any cognition or quality of life, despite the small steps of progress we have achieved by working with Sarah at home.
Sarah’s mother, Jimmie Sue Richardson (Ferguson’s Furniture Store in Yazoo City, Ms.) has remained steadfast in her faith and hopeful, even when doctors provide little hope for any improvement in Sarah’s condition.
Recently, one of Sarah’s caregivers recommended Apex Brain Centers in Asheville, North Carolina (https://apexbraincenters.com/), specifically because, some of their team has had success with cases like Sarah’s.
Due to some close friends/family donating Hilton Honor’s Points to help cover travel expenses, the family was able to travel to Asheville, North Carolina the week of (1/9/2021 – 1/16/2021) for Sarah to undergo a week-long round of treatments with Dr. Trayford (Founder and Director of Clinical Operations) at Apex Brain Center.
During Sarah’s week of treatments with Dr. Trayford, he saw many encouraging signs that suggests Sarah is a great candidate for this form of treatment. Dr. Trayford is very encouraged by what he sees, and so are we. This week was just the beginning of an exceptionally long process, but we are hopeful!
Sarah is going to need a lot of in-home equipment that will help us be able to continue many of the treatments that the doctor performed in office. The most immediate need is to be able to purchase 3 Shedlight Cold lasers and 3 tripods to hold the lasers. The lasers cost around $6250.00 + tax/s/h per laser; the cost for the tripods is separate, so that comes to approximately $20,000. There are at least 3 different pieces of equipment that the family has already purchased out of pocket, but we need help in getting this lifechanging equipment for Sarah!
Please be a part of something potentially lifechanging for a young woman who was once so vivacious, fun-loving, talented, and full of life! Your contribution will make such a difference! No donation is too small!!
