Hello, my name is Sarah. I'm 39 years old and was diagnosed with a synovial sarcoma back in September of 2024. Since the tumor had grown too big before I found it, I opted for an above-knee amputation because even though it was large, it was still contained in my leg.
I have been lucky enough to live with my grandma, boyfriend, and sons, who have been able to support me financially while I have been waiting for my social security disability to be approved. However, we have recently learned that my cancer is back in my lungs and I will have to start seeing a medical oncologist. Thankfully, my orthopedic oncologist is referring me to the University of Michigan for further treatment.
The problem is, my car is on the verge of being repossessed, plus with the incoming travel costs and things I'm sure I can't even plan for, I do not know what to do. My boyfriend is already stretched with finances, keeping up on all the other bills, my grandma had already used a huge chunk of her savings to help and we are still waiting to hear about my disability. So, I am asking for any help, please. Thank you in advance for all the help. Thank you so much.
