Hi, my name is Landon Measells, and I’m reaching out for help for my wife, Sarah. She was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma toward the end of last year, and while we’ve done everything we can to stay on top of medical costs, we’ve reached a point where we can’t do it alone anymore.

Sarah underwent surgery to remove the cancer from her leg, as well as two lymph nodes—one of which tested positive. She is now preparing to start immunotherapy, which is a critical step in her fight. Unfortunately, the costs of treatment, imaging, genetic testing, and multiple specialist visits have overwhelmed us.

While she was working, we were managing, but Sarah’s battle with depression and fatigue has made it impossible for her to continue. She's such a hard worker and a fighter but I feel just about everyone would struggle with staying positive. As a result, we’ve fallen behind on medical and household bills, and even had to make the tough decision to stop our daughter Brooklyn’s kickboxing lessons—something she truly enjoyed.

We already need/owe around:

$3,500 for imaging that insurance refused to cover

$1,700 for genetic testing her doctor requested

Multiple specialist copayments at $50 per visit

Household bills that have fallen behind due to medical costs

These are just the financial troubles we've hit so far. We still haven't started Sarah's immunotherapy that she has to go to once a month for at least a year. And the estimated earliest Sarah will finish her total treatment is five years from now. We don't actually know how much the total cost may be. The listed amount would just cover our insurance max out of pocket.
