Honor Colton and Callahan May ((Sarah (Couch) and Dylan May)

Donation protected

Thank you for taking time to learn about Sarah and Dylan's situation. Please remember, 100% of your donations will go toward paying the backlog of bills (Car payments, utilities, credit card debt) that will help them transition to a single-income family and pay unexpected HIGH medical bills at a time when it's difficult to survive in a family with two incomes.

Sarah & Dylan May were married on April 20, 2024. Dylan started a new job @ Maryland DOT on September 3. Sarah is a Lead Preschool Teacher at a LaPetite Daycare Center in Frederick, MD. They discovered they expect twins (2 boys) on January 13, 2025, the first children for both. Sarah spent a week in the Hospital after a regular pre-natal appt in Hagerstown, MD on Monday, August 19th. Sarah had to be driven to Baltimore, MD for an ultrasound at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, MD. That exam revealed a condition that required a cervical cerclage. This surgical procedure involves placing a stitch around the cervix to help keep it closed during pregnancy. She was admitted to the hospital pending another ultrasound to verify the stitch was doing its job. It was and she was discharged a few days later and went home, unable to work. She was told she needed weekly ultrasounds at U of M in Baltimore for the next 12 weeks at a minimum.

On Tuesday, September 3, Sarah arrived at U of M Baltimore for her weekly ultrasound. Her Cervix had shifted and the Doctors admitted her again, telling her she would have to stay in the hospital for the remainder of her pregnancy, of course hoping to take her babies to full term.
So, now you have the background. The circumstances around this effort to raise funds for Sarah and Dylan. Several issues have combined to create a 'perfect storm' of need.
• Dylan starting a new job on 9/3 with the State of Maryland means he is not eligible for medical benefits until October 1. He has gone back to his former employer and is in the process of buying COBRA medical insurance - one month for $2,200
• Sarah has been out of work without pay for nearly a month and will not be able to work until at least 2 months after the boys are born. If they go full term, She won't work for the next 7-8 months - loss of income of roughly $25,000
• The transition between jobs for Dylan has been bumpy. He decided to take a lower-paying job for better benefits reducing the income coming into their household.
• They are currently working to sell one of their cars and go to a single-car family and reduce their cost of living. The current value of that car is about $2,000 less than a dealer is willing to pay them.
Dylan and Sarah aren't the only ones living in their house, Dylan's Mother and Brother also live there.
I'm sure many of you know the cost of daycare. Even though Sarah has been a lead teacher for several years in her daycare center, there aren't any discounts available for employees at big corporate daycares like there were 25 years ago. If she can go back to work, taking two infants with her to the center - they will pay over $800.00 per week in daycare costs - more than Sarah's gross pay and taxes eat even deeper into the deficit created by the cost of care.
Any help you can give will help them survive this extremely difficult time for Dylan and Sarah. It's a 105-mile drive one way for Dylan to see her and as much as 2 2-hour drive each way, depending on traffic. Parking, food, and supplies to make Sarah somewhat comfortable all add to that.
I think you get the picture.
If you can, and feel inclined, please help them.
