Help Sarah care for Sampson

Hi, my name is Connie Peceny and I am fundraising on behalf of my daughter whose dog (my grand dog) is very sick. Sampson went in to the Emergency vet early morning on December 18, 2021 after he began crying out in pain and was extremely unsettled with vomiting and diarrhea. Sampson has been battling stomach issues for several months and we thought we had it under control with the care of his amazing veterinarian, Kasie Martin, DVM at VCA Wyoming. But early Saturday morning, he started looking really sick and we rushed him to VCA Emergency Vet where he was found to be severely dehydrated, in extreme pain (from his belly), with distended belly, and unstable vital signs. He has been getting care since then and is at least stable and not in pain, thanks to medications. With care, many prayers, and by the grace of God, Sammie made it through the first 24 hours. They still are not sure what is wrong with him, but he is requiring around-the-clock care, monitoring, and continued medication and fluids, along with diagnostic labs and imaging.

 

As anyone who has animals in their lives, you probably know that good veterinary care comes with a cost and that complicated, life-saving veterinary costs add up very quickly. This Go Fund Me page is set up to help my daughter Sarah be able to get the care for Sampson that he really needs right now. We have been very fortunate in our lives with jobs, health, family, friends, and lot of dogs, but there are times when we all need to bow our heads and ask for help. This is one of those situations.

 

We love Sampson so much. He is the sweetest dog ever and has always been the most precious support dog to my daughter through difficult times. He truly is Sarah’s best friend. Sampson is 11 yrs old, and up until recently was having a healthy, happy, love-filled life in our dog family. We are desperate to give him whatever he needs to get better. Any help you can give, including just sending positive, healing thoughts and prayers our way, will be forever appreciated. All funds collected will go towards the growing veterinary costs that this hospitalization has accrued. The vet has been very good about giving us estimates of care costs to expect in the next couple of days. Thank you.
