Help Sarah Avoid Eviction Amid Health Struggles

My name is Sarah and I’m 50 yrs old and I live alone with my 2 kitties that are my world especially right now. They really help me get through the really hard days of dealing with all my health issues. This is so not easy for me to ask for help but I need to prevent becoming homeless while battling my many health issues that have yet to be diagnosed. Back in October, I started having debilitating headaches along with major light sensitivity with no known diagnosis as of yet despite many tests, including an MRI and a spinal tap. I also have muscle twitches/spasms, dizzy spells, among other symptoms. I was referred to UW Madison Neurology back in November but have yet to get an appointment. Due to my health issues, I am unable to work. I did have a great job which I started in August, and they very much tried to accommodate me, but my symptoms were too bad to be able to make it through a full day of work, so I am no longer able to work. With only working there a couple of months, I am not eligible for FMLA. I have not had a paycheck since October and am behind on rent. I have reached out to every charity out there and people in my personal life. I did get a donation but at at this time not quite enough to keep me from getting evicted. My apartment manager has been extremely patient with me trying to come up with rent on my own, but they are now filing for eviction for me. I also need surgery on my elbow from an injury from my previous job and have bursitis in my right shoulder which makes it almost impossible to do anything strenuous around here. So moving would be very difficult for me. I’m just trying to keep a roof over my head at this point and avoid eviction. I’m hoping to stay in this apartment as if I move, I will have to come up with even more money for the first month's security deposit plus I would still owe on this apartment I’m currently in until they rent it out. If it actually gets to the point of eviction through the court, it will be twice as hard to get an apartment. I am working with social security to get payments started. I was supposed to get my first payment started this month, but there was an error made on their part, so I have to fill out new paperwork to get this straightened, and we all know that takes time and is not fast enough to help keep my apartment. Every penny will help! If you don’t want to donate here, you can contact Courtyard Apartments in Fond du Lac.

I just want to clarify all money donated will go straight to rent. That is all I need. Just a roof over my head. I want to thank anyone who does donate ahead of time to help keep me and kitties in my apartment. I’ve never ever had an eviction in my life or asked anyone ever to pay my rent. When I can, I will most definitely pay it forward.

Thank you for your time!
